French terry fabric is characterised by a smooth finish on the right side, and a "loopy" finish on the back-side of the fabric. It is a stable fabric, that can range from lightweight 200gsm (close to your everyday t-shirt) to heavyweight 400+gsm (for those thick winter jackets).Some french terry have minimal stretch, while others have great 4-way stretch, with stretchability and recovery depending on the spandex/elastance/lycra content of the specific french terry fabric.
