Ponte & Scuba

Ponte, also known as Ponte di Roma or Ponti, is a luxurious medium to heavy weight double-knit fabric, with fine horizontal ribbing on the surface if you look closely. Ponte that we stock have low to medium two-way stretch, if your pattern asks for 35%+ two-way stretch, or four-way stretch, you can still use Ponte, by going one size up.

Uses: pants, skirts, winter tops, fitted dresses, jackets & coats

Scuba knit is another luxurious medium to heavy weight fabric with nice drape. It has a smooth texture, with medium two-way (selvedge to selvedge) stretch.

Uses: dresses, trousers, formal & corporate wear, evening wear

The 200gsm solid scuba crepe is also the recommended fabric for the skin & face of in-the-hoop embroidery dolls.
